Verona
There once lived an ugly duckling….
Yet that tale others can sing:
I have a New story which will not bore,
For it relates to matters ne’er dealt with before.
On a lonely, wet and frosted forecourt:
Sat Verona, a very amiable but green sort!
Never driven up till now, hub caps gleaming:
Hoping for an owner to appear with cash, beaming.
The Vauxhalls scoffed with their Cavalier attitudes,
The Rovers barked out nothing but silly platitudes,
Verona yet remained resolute in this automobile rodeo,
For she is a top of the range Ford Mondeo!
Yet what no car could have foreseen,
(Even though the glass is clean on their windscreens)
Is that amiable lady who drives past in a haze,
Veronas’ future owner, one Margaret Ann Hayes.
